Brad Dalke Fires Stunning 66 to Move One Shot Off BMW International Open Lead

Munich, Germany: Brad Dalke continued his remarkable week at the BMW International Open with a brilliant six-under-par 66 in Friday’s second round. The American moved to nine under overall, leaving him one stroke behind the leaders heading into the weekend on the DP World Tour.

Dalke, making his DP World Tour debut through a sponsor invitation, has become one of the tournament’s biggest stories. After opening with a three-under 69, he improved by three shots in the second round and stayed firmly in the title race at Golfclub München Eichenried.

The 28-year-old entered the event with modest expectations, saying before the tournament that he wanted to enjoy the experience. Two rounds later, he is competing against some of the world’s top professional golfers.

Dalke’s second-round 66 included seven birdies and one bogey, showing steady play throughout the day. His round began with an errant tee shot on the opening hole that forced him to recover from the trees, but he quickly settled into his game and produced one of the best rounds of the tournament.

A turning point came at the fifth hole, where Dalke made an excellent birdie after playing from off the putting surface. He then added three straight birdies on the ninth, tenth and eleventh holes to climb rapidly up the leaderboard.

The finish to his round was equally impressive. Dalke rolled in a birdie putt from around 28 feet on the 14th hole before ending the day with another from more than 40 feet at the 18th. Those clutch putts brought him to a 36-hole total of 135.

After two rounds, Dalke sits tied for second place alongside Frederic LaCroix at nine under par. Carlos Ortiz and Michael Hollick lead at ten under, leaving Dalke one shot back with 36 holes remaining.

The leaderboard remains tightly packed, so a strong weekend could give Dalke a chance to earn one of the biggest victories of his career.

His play has placed him ahead of several established professionals this week, showing he can perform under pressure.

Before becoming widely known through golf content on YouTube, Dalke was one of the brightest young amateur golfers in the United States. He finished runner-up at the 2016 U.S. Amateur Championship and later qualified for the Masters Tournament and the U.S. Open in 2017.

Although he stepped away from full-time professional golf, Dalke remained active through Good Good Golf, one of the most popular golf channels on YouTube. Earlier this year, he announced his departure from the group to focus on personal priorities.

His performance at the BMW International Open has reminded many fans of the talent that once made him one of America’s leading amateur golfers.

Despite sitting near the top of the leaderboard, Dalke said he arrived in Germany without putting pressure on himself to achieve a specific result.

“I didn’t come into the tournament with any expectations. I wanted to enjoy the week, and playing this well has made it even more special.”

Dalke also admitted that nerves were part of the experience, especially in the opening stages of the tournament. Still, he believes competing in front of large crowds is something he has always enjoyed.

“There are always nervous moments when you’re competing against great players, but those are the opportunities every golfer wants. I’m enjoying every minute of it.”

Dalke’s strong start has attracted attention across the golf world, especially because this is his first DP World Tour appearance. His accurate iron play, confident putting and calm approach have helped him remain among the tournament’s top performers through the opening two rounds.

With only one shot separating him from the lead, Dalke will enter the weekend with a genuine chance of lifting the BMW International Open trophy. A similar performance over the final 36 holes could produce one of the tournament’s most memorable stories and mark an outstanding return to top-level competitive golf.

Golf fans will now be watching closely to see whether Brad Dalke can continue his outstanding form and challenge for his first DP World Tour title in Munich.
